Are you doing it for family? How long have they made you eat crow? You wouldn't be here if you didn't sense something was wrong. Don't fret. Once you get a further taste of the cold shoulder you can always fade. Meanwhile, inform yourself here. Its an amazing antidote.

I think it just depends on the disposition of your father. Is he an idealist that lives by the book, or a realist that can provide protection and knows the game? Those factors will determine your hell or your hapiness.

Did You Ever Do This?
by Outaservice init seemed that running my business and all the meetings at the hall, plus my social life was taking a toll on my time.
there was a brother at the hall, that was married, and a very good public speaker (used to be a radio announcer) .
anyhow, he was always short on cash and was agreeable to my offer as follows............... if i was assigned to give a talk out of town at a neighboring congregation, i would pay him to take the talk for me as a substitute (at the time $25.00) and then i would stay home that day.. i gave him $10 for an instruction talk, $10 for a service meeting part, and $5 for anything else such as reading the watchtower sundays or a bible reading, etc.. it was a 'win, win' situation for both of us.. outaservice (now out of money).

Man, that a great deal. Donald Trump charges a million for a 1hr. lecture. It's nice to know that money talks loudly, even in the theocratic world of Jws.

Were YOU a JW Who Was Always Afraid, Depressed or Ill?
by minimus inwhile i was an elder (in 2 congregations), over the years, i saw most witnesses that suffered from s o m e t h i n g.. either a witness had chronic depression, mysterious ailments that were never clearly diagnosed by a doctor, or were in fear.
afraid to offend another brother's conscience.,afraid to upset the elders.
afraid to grieve the holy spirit.

I felt quite secure in the org. As I knew nothing else, but I have known many peers to have illness fears and depression. All that negative stuff happened to me after they pulled the rug out from under me and my structure collapsed. It lasted for many years. The only real healing from all that I've ever really had, has been on this board. Fortunately despite, the pressure and there coaxining at my lowest points, I never gave in. Now they will never get me, and I will do all I can to turn the tables. They never could have dreamed ,the internet would be there worst nightmare.

So, I suspected you might be the Terry that composed all those peices I have listened to while lurking for months. You are very talented and it befits your intellect. It really is beautiful Terry! You do this for fun? I think you have a gold mine.

For what it's worth,.....
by Twitch ini was thinking about the various reasons i come to this site and felt the need to espouse some thoughts.
i shied away from this site at first for what now seems some rather silly reasons; as if there were things here i didn't need to know, lol.
but i did and do enjoy the scope of topics here, the intelligence, cameraderie and diverse opinions of the posters here.

Hey fellow Canuck were on the same page. I know exactly what you mean about the value of this board and the variety of comments. Its also important too that other people know what it was like. It's kind of like it's own sub culture, where one feels a sense of belonging. I feel more kinship here in cyber space ,than I ever did in the witneses.

PRIEST GETS 14 YEARS FOR DEATH IN BOTCHED EXORCISM.
by Mary inwhy is it that a priest, practicing their 'freedom of religion' can be jailed when someone dies during a botched exorcism, yet the watchtower society faces no jail time when someone dies from refusing a blood transfusion?
i realize this is in another country, but what happens in north america if someone dies during an exorcism?
is the priest put in prison?

I think the reason that it doesn't happen, is that the botchtower was born into legal maneuverings since the time of it's first lawyer leader, Judge Brotherford. They have a following of zealots, who are totally in step with every insane pronouncement that issues forth, and have been surrounding themselves with a team of lawyers at the top ever since. Imagine the Roman Catholic hierachy, as a team of legal beagles. They could pull a lot more shit, if they all went to law school an imbeded ther legal structure into the fabric of society.

I love that dog in your top pic to death. Anyway I have a cat named buddy. He's just nervous by nature but he's very nice. He has razor sharp claws and doesn't hesitate to use them on anything without notice. I don't want to clip his nails though, because it's painful and he really is nice natured. He also needs to be able to defend himself. When he wants my attention he will come to my face wherever I am, and tap me with his paws ever so gently, with the pads. I dont even feel his claws, and beleive me, they are there. He will also gently nibble my nose at times with his incisors. He treats me with respect and is very sensitive and gentle to my face in every way. If I didn't put him in another room at times, he would be content to spend every waking minute of the day, glued to me.

what's your sign baby? ;)
by freedomloverr inwhere we live is a very *new agey*, *earthy* area.
when i was a witness i never thought twice about my astrological sign or how it relates to anyone else.
here, people are always asking what my sign is and i've really been entertained by how i see patterns with people in my life and how i've noticed i'm actually attracted to certain *signs* .

Nice writing TSF! You've given me ideas, and inspired me on how to properly write mine. It sounds really interesting too!
